What Are DuPont DTF Inks?
DuPont DTF inks are the Artistri® P1600 series — water-based pigment inks engineered by DuPont specifically for direct-to-film (DTF) printing. The line includes seven colors — Cyan (P1610), Magenta (P1620), Yellow (P1630), Black (P1640), White (P1690), Orange (P1660), and Green (P1675) — all manufactured in the United States, OEKO-TEX certified, Prop 65 compliant, and rated for 90+ wash cycles on cotton, polyester, and blends.
Built on DuPont’s proprietary pigment dispersions and more than 30 years of Artistri® digital ink development, the P1600 platform delivers batch-to-batch color consistency and reliable jetting through Epson I3200, DX4, DX5, and DX7 printheads. Prints release cleanly from PET transfer film, bond through standard TPU hot-melt powder, and hold vivid color through commercial laundering.
dupontdtfinks.com — powered by Buckets of Ink LLC in Tempe, Arizona — is an authorized distributor stocking every P1600 color in 1-liter bottles, with 10-liter and 200-liter volume programs for production floors.

Why Orange and Green
Change What You Can Print
Standard DTF ink set — CMYK only
DuPont Artistri® P1600 — CMYK + White + Orange + Green
Saturated oranges and greens are the two hardest color families to reproduce with four-color process. Team uniforms, safety apparel, and brand logos live in exactly that territory — and a CMYK-only ink set forces muddy approximations.
P1660 Orange and P1675 Green extend the P1600 gamut into those spot-color-critical zones, while P1690 White lays the high-opacity underbase that keeps every color bright on black and dark garments.
The result: DTF transfers that match brand standards other shops have to decline.
How DTF Printing Works
With Artistri® P1600
Print on PET Film
Artwork prints in mirror image onto PET transfer film — color layers first, then the P1690 White underbase on top.
Powder and Cure
TPU hot-melt adhesive powder is applied to the wet ink and cured, forming the bonding layer of the transfer.
Heat Press
The transfer presses onto the garment under heat and pressure, bonding permanently to cotton, polyester, and blends.
Peel and Wear
The film peels away, leaving a vibrant, stretchable print rated for 90+ wash cycles.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are DuPont DTF inks?
DuPont DTF inks are the Artistri P1600 series: water-based pigment inks engineered by DuPont specifically for direct-to-film (DTF) printing. The line includes seven colors, Cyan (P1610), Magenta (P1620), Yellow (P1630), Black (P1640), White (P1690), Orange (P1660), and Green (P1675). All seven are manufactured in the United States, OEKO-TEX certified, Prop 65 compliant, and rated for 90+ wash cycles on cotton, polyester, and blended fabrics.
What do the P-numbers on DuPont Artistri inks mean?
Each P-number is the SKU for one color in the Artistri P1600 DTF series: P1610 is Cyan, P1620 is Magenta, P1630 is Yellow, P1640 is Black, P1690 is White, P1660 is Orange, and P1675 is Green. The shared P16xx prefix identifies the ink as part of the P1600 direct-to-film pigment platform.
Which printheads are DuPont Artistri P1600 DTF inks compatible with?
DuPont Artistri P1600 DTF inks are compatible with Epson I3200, DX4, DX5, and DX7 printheads, and they are optimized for the Epson I3200 printhead, the most common printhead in modern DTF printers, for the best print quality and jetting consistency.
Are DuPont DTF inks made in the USA?
Yes. Every bottle of DuPont Artistri P1600 DTF ink is manufactured in the United States and carries Country of Origin: USA on its label. Domestic production means consistent quality control, US-standard safety compliance, and a shorter supply chain with no overseas shipping delays.
Are DuPont Artistri DTF inks OEKO-TEX certified?
Yes. DuPont Artistri P1600 DTF inks are OEKO-TEX certified and Prop 65 compliant, making them suitable for garment decorators who need documented safety compliance, including shops producing apparel for children and retail programs.
What is DuPont P1690 White DTF ink used for?
P1690 White is the high-opacity underbase ink in the P1600 series. It prints beneath the CMYK, Orange, and Green layers so colors stay bright and accurate on black and dark garments. Like all white DTF inks, it should be agitated regularly and used in printers with white ink recirculation for best results.
Why does the P1600 series include Orange and Green inks?
P1660 Orange and P1675 Green expand the color gamut beyond what CMYK alone can reproduce. Saturated oranges and greens, common in sports uniforms, safety wear, and brand logos, are the hardest colors to hit with four-color process. Adding the two gamut-expansion channels lets DTF shops match spot-color-critical artwork.
What fabrics can I press DuPont DTF transfers onto?
Transfers printed with DuPont Artistri P1600 inks bond to cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, and most common apparel textiles, and they are rated for 90+ wash cycles with proper curing and pressing. That coverage includes light and dark garments thanks to the P1690 White underbase.
